If you collect games you’ll know that Neo Geo collecting isn’t for the faint hearted. It’s one of the most competitive areas to get into and having deep pockets isn’t the only thing you need as was indicative with this auction that ended less than 24 hours after it began. Having dabbled in some Neo Geo ownership in the past it was great to see this US copy of Ninja Masters go for $1,950 (approximately £1248 at the time of sale) in the speed that it did.
Nothing like monitoring a super rare game on eBay only to see it sell a couple of hours later. When I was at school whilst everyone else was on Megadrives and Super Nintendo’s there was always a couple of kids who were priveleged enough to be dealing in £100 Japanese carts and boy were we envious of them.
If you haven’t got into Neo Geo collecting you should try it, just grab a Japanese AES console off eBay buy a few carts and play them on your HD tv and you’ll know what I mean. One of the best gaming platforms you’ll find for giving you those original arcade retro coin-op vibes. Oh and don’t worry about the cost, most people end up selling what they buy for more than they purchased for. The Neo Geo is good in that way, as time passes things just get more and more expensive.
